Project background

Industrial sites typically speak many protocols at once — Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, proprietary. Consolidating that into a coherent data layer is usually the first prerequisite for any higher-level work.

Challenge

Translating between protocols without losing semantics, handling sensor metadata and units consistently, and doing so at the volumes produced by continuous process industries.

Approach & solution

We built an aggregation platform with protocol adapters on the edge, a normalized schema in the middle, and a scalable time-series store at the back. Every incoming tag carries its unit, source, and quality, making downstream analytics straightforward.

Results & benefits

Downstream analytics and dashboards could finally trust their input. Several previously abandoned analytics initiatives became feasible once the data layer was reliable.
