Project background

Tracking a crop from seeding through germination, transplant, grow-out, and harvest usually involves separate tools — if any. The client wanted one system that handled the entire lifecycle with full traceability.

Challenge

Tying physical movement of trays to logical state transitions without forcing staff into clunky data entry. Integrating with existing climate and dosing systems instead of replacing them, and producing audit-ready records for compliance.

Approach & solution

We built a workflow engine keyed on barcoded trays, scanned at each station. State transitions automatically update climate recipes and schedules downstream. Every action — human or automated — is logged against the tray's record. A single dashboard shows the entire farm's state at a glance.

Results & benefits

Operators gained end-to-end visibility over every tray in the facility, and lost batches became trivially traceable. Onboarding new staff was noticeably faster because the system guides the workflow instead of relying on tribal knowledge.
