Project background

Microgrid operators need unified visibility over solar, storage, loads, and grid interaction. The client wanted a monitoring layer that complemented — rather than replaced — their existing microgrid controller.

Challenge

Adding an observability layer without interfering with real-time control, and presenting microgrid state in a way that matched operator mental models of generation, storage, and load.

Approach & solution

We read telemetry passively from the microgrid controller and associated assets, then built dashboards tailored to microgrid operations — state-of-charge trajectories, net import/export, and event timelines. Forecasts inform operators of expected behavior in the hours ahead.

Results & benefits

Operators gained clarity over microgrid behavior, particularly during mode transitions. Post-event reviews became straightforward with all relevant data co-located on a single timeline.
